Physical unclonable function (PUF) is a hardware security primitive which operates as a one-way function that gives a unique output for the same input provided to each PUF instance. Consequently, PUFs output can be used as a "digital fingerprint" to identify electronic devices/systems uniquely.
Even if you have not heard about PUF before, do not worry; I can explain to you clearly. If you have basic knowledge of a hardware description language (VHDL and Verilog), you can apply for this project. You have two options for the software: Vivado or Quartus.
The delay element can be used to design more than one type of physical unclonable function. Therefore, if two students want to work on this project, they will make different designs using the same delay element.
