Design and implement a data-driven academic performance analytics system that helps visualize student progress, identify potential risk factors, and generate simple predictive insights based on historical academic data.The system should function as a practical decision-support tool for instructors or academic coordinators (not as an official grading or institutional system). It should assist in identifying patterns in student performance and highlighting potential concerns in a clear, interpretable way.

Project Objective:

To build an interactive platform that is able to stores structured academic performance data, analyzes trends across time, identifies at-risk students using simple predictive models, and displays interpretable insights through a graphical interface.

Main Requirements of the project:

1- Database Design

  • Store students, courses, grades, and attendance
  • Use a relational database (SQLite or PostgreSQL)


2- Performance Analytics

  • GPA calculation
  • Semester-based summaries
  • Performance trend visualization


3- Risk Prediction Module

  • Implement one basic classification model (e.g., logistic regression or decision tree)
  • Output risk score (Low / Medium / High)
  • Show model evaluation metrics


4- Dashboard Interface

  • Search and view individual student profiles
  • Display charts (GPA trend, attendance, risk score)
  • Provide simple explanations of risk factors

Testing & Evaluation

  • Use simulated dataset
  • Report accuracy and confusion matrix


The project is considered complete if it delivers the following outcome:

  1. Functional backend + database
  2. Working analytics logic
  3. Trained and evaluated prediction model
  4. Interactive dashboard
